Getzen Ireland Ltd. is pleased to announce that Daniel Newell, Principal Cornet of the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House has decided to play on the fantastic new Getzen 800 DLX Eterna Cornet.
Developed in recent years, the 800 DLX Cornet will become a benchmark for versatility and quality within the industry.
Dan started playing the Cornet at the age of five and went on to study music at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Currently principal cornet with the orchestra of the Royal Opera House, having previously been a member of the London Symphony Orchestra and the London Philharmonic Orchestra. He has played on over 200 films, TV and video soundtracks including Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Shreks, Love Actually, How to Train Your Dragon 3, Black Panther and the Solo: A Star Wars Story. He has also played with artists including Muse, Peter Gabriel, Florence and the Machine, Sam Smith and Sir Paul McCartney.
Dan is also the creator of Billy’s Band - a world of musical adventure inspiring children and families to have fun making music. Dan’s dream is that Billy will become the first music teacher to many children throughout the world and help them find their musical voice.
